🍵 Tea Notes

Dan Cong

Dan Cong (单丛, "single bush") are oolongs from Fenghuang (凤凰) in Chao'an, Guangdong. They began as the best old trees of the Fenghuang Shuixian population, picked and made one tree at a time; many have since been grown on from cuttings as lines of their own. Each is filed under the scent it gives — gardenia, orchid, honey orchid, almond and so on, ten main types and several more — and each tree has its own name: its place, its keeper, its leaf or a story.

Search a tree or an aroma by any of its names (pinyin, English or Chinese); pick one to see where it grows, how it's related, and which other aromas connect to it. The trees are the 222 in Chen Shaoping's survey of the old trees .
